My summer continues to be busy but thought I'd check in to tell you a few things that have been going on. Like a couple of days ago, a gentle breeze wafted through the Quad Cities... ...and I saw a sign on a gas station door that got me excited until I continued reading... ...plus I had another SQUEE moment. While in Half-Price Books this Saturday, I hit the mother lode. If you're a Doctor Who fan, adjust your bow ties and take a look at this: This bundle of goodness contains all that is magical and awesome. I'm talking a TARDIS, people, one that holds Doctor Who Monster Invasion trading cards. It even included a pack of them to get my collection started! Of course, as soon I got home, I added it to my office's corny corner of love. What a wonderful addition. The bundle also came with a magazine, a little poster, and -- be still my heart -- a Doctor Who mask! Instead of trying to get my cat, Cinnamon, to wear it (I learned my lesson earlier) I borrowed my son's old Build-A-Bear cat, also named Cinnamon. I must say, he was a much more cooperative model. Still, Matt's zombie eyes kinda freak me out. Yes, I know. I'm supposed to cut them out but I'm too afraid. If I screw up and disfigure Matt I could never forgive myself. Anyway, those are a few of the highlights of my week. Fascinating, I know. I hope you're all having some summertime fun. If you have a chance, tell me about it!

Wow, that tree was literally uprooted! I have to admit, I got excited about the Free Ride In A Police Car, too...at least that store has a good sense of humor! I'm afraid I would have been tempted to five-finger-discount the sign itself, but I restrict those urges to cute little demitasse spoons at fancy restaurants (at least they fit in my purse) :-P Your corner of love is awesome, but where is that hideous clown figurine? I don't see it anywhere! You haven't gotten rid of him, have you? As for old Zombie Eyes, maybe you could try using a hole-puncher?

It was a grand week, though not so much for that tree. Still the ride and the spoils -- huzzah!

"Fell over in relaxation" -- LOVE IT! As for hot water into hot chocolate, I absolutely must ask him for that. Too bad the weather has been so stinky for you. Hopefully July will be much better. You deserve sunshine since you bring so much sunshine to us!

Awww that's so sweet :D Fingers crossed the weather is better indeed. I'm listening to the rain again today! Have a great weekend! 6/26/2013 10:09:00 am
We had a gentle breeze like that a few weeks ago, which uprooted a tree in a nearby creek. I have to admit it looks rather beautiful bent over the water as it is, with a few red-tailed blackbirds sitting on top of it. I almost got a free ride in a police car earlier in the month when I got pulled over with an outdated inspection ticker. Fortunately, all I got was a warning to renew it ASAP. I imagine your summer must be pretty lively (crazy) with the kids and all. Always a pleasure to see your curly-headed avatar at the forum.

There were quite a few uprooted trees...and fallen limbs, and downed power lines. Ugh. Moline seemed to get the brunt of the damage. I'm very glad you got off with a warning, though I'm sure you'd rock those jailhouse stripes. :) I wish I could be at the forum more. I miss my friends. Always a pleasure when I'm there!

Now that school is out for summer, it's been more louder & crowded at the public library. I always get there early so I can reserve a computer.

Ha! I'd take a free computer over a free ride, too. And I'm sure all of those kids are studying hard in preparation for next year. Seriously, it's pretty cool that the library gets so much action over the summer.

Those police cars are a luxury you know. Years ago, I had a seriously asthma attack and the police had to pick me up on the road and take me to the hospital. Once those windows are closed you just can't hear the noise of the blue sirens, and it was the smoothest, fastest ride I've even been on.

Oh my gosh! My maternal instincts went into overdrive when I heard serious asthma attack. I've got to say, though, some people will do anything for a ride in a police car. ;)

Oh, the carnage from that gentle breeze! And I love my collection, too. Thanks! ;)
