Say it isn't so!
My critique partner, Leslie Langtry, just found one of the silliest book titles available on Amazon. Called A List of Animals I Believe I Could Defeat in Single Combat, Organized by Phylum, it's one man's list of ....well, animals he believes he could defeat in single combat, orgnaized by phylum.

I've got to say, there are a TON of crazy books out there. I, for one, think that's awesome. So I did some research and found some of the craziest book titles Amazon has to offer...

...and here they are. Below are the some of the goofiest books I have ever seen. And some of the reviews are hysterical. If you want to read them just click the book cover and you'll be sent to its page on Amazon. Enjoy!

I'm drawn to "The Stray Shopping Carts of Eastern North America: A Guide to Field Identification "Living With Crazy Buttocks," probably because I live in the city of Atlanta where shopping carts are part of the local scenery. I myself "borrowed" one once, many years ago. I found it on the sidewalk, and used it as storage for my canned goods. My favorite bizarre medical book is "The Textbook of Human Malformations." I've seen quite a few of my friends on those pages!

I love the most helpful review on that one:

"This book is easily one of the top four reference guides for shopping carts available on the market today. It does an excellent job of covering the following topics:

* Shopping carts"

Tee hee! It's hilarious that you used one once. Did you place it near your giant utensils? ;) As for the human malformation book, I doubt I'd want to look at it right before dinner!

The To Punch A Dolphin In The Mouth sounds awesome, but I am starting to sway towards The Big Book of Lesbian Horse Stories

Dolphins...horses...I see you gravitate toward the animal side of things. You might also like "How to Tell if Your Cat is Plotting to Kill You." I'm sure it's a great read. ;)

"An Arsonist's Guide To Writer's Homes In New England."-Sounds like somebody's short stories got rejected once too often. I wonder how many New England writer's homes have been set to the torch since this book was first published.

Haha! You might be right. I wonder if the book has a disclaimer. "No New England writers' homes were harmed during the making of this book."

I think I need to own the garden gnome and dolphin punching books.

Then I'm glad I brought them to your attention. :) (I won't ask why you need a book on punching dolphins. The whole garden gnome attack thing, though? Totally understandable.)

I love this list, it's great! I actually read the zombie guide one and I've seen the one about punching dolphins; though, I haven't actually read it. Maybe the next time I'm at the bookstore I'll take a look around for some for some of the other books to take a look at. Maybe I'll even pick up the one about punching dolphins, haha. Great stuff!

The zombie guide looks really fun. I might want to read that one, too. I'm curious about the dolphin book. Looks like it could be funny and even educational...maybe. ;)
