So your mom won't buy you a _______...
Maybe it’s a cell phone, maybe a car. It could just be a cool pair of jeans. No matter what the coveted item is, it all comes down to money. And it’s her money, not yours. Yeah, yeah, you’ve heard it before. But do you know how much it costs to raise a kid? An average of $11,000 per year, and that’s not including college. Coming up with that kind of cash isn’t always easy, so give your mom a break. I know it’s hard being the only kid who doesn’t own a ________. And I know not having a ________ makes you less cool. But, come on, if you want it that bad then go get a job (as long as it doesn’t interfere with your school work J).
Now for some of you out there, the situation’s different. You do stand out, because you don’t have what everyone else does. Guess what? You’re a stronger girl for it. Look at Oprah and Elvis - they had nothing growing up – yet, still, they knew they were something. And now I don’t even have to use their last names, and you know who I’m talking about. Talk about success. So if your family can’t afford that ________, it’s okay. Use that desire for motivation. As a wise man once said, “when you reach for the stars, you might not catch one, but you won’t come up with a handful of mud either.”
