It's a Kmart Blue Light Special!!!
When it came to shopping, one of my most 'exciting' (a.k.a. corny) memories is Kmart's blue light specials. Here's how I remember it:
You’d just be ambling around the store, scoping out the merchandise, and then BAM! An announcement would come over the PA:
“Attention, shoppers. We have a blue light special in aisle 24. For the next fourteen minutes, you can purchase Love’s Baby Soft Body Mist for the low, low price of $2.99. That’s seventy cents off the retail price….”
As the announcer spoke, a flashing blue light would materialize over the spot in the store where the product was located and half the customers would dash over to check it out.
I kid you not. We were starving for entertainment folks.
